The following athletes have been nominated by the coaching staff at Saginaw High School for Athlete of the Week April 24 - May 1, 2017. After viewing the great accomplishments of these young ladies and gentlemen, please vote for who you believe is most deserving. You will see the fan poll located to the left of the home page. Amani Lawrence - Amani Lawrenece was nominated by Coach Crawford. She is a member of the Saginaw Track and Field team. Mikeska qualifed for the 5A State Meet in the 100m hurdles.
Marybel Pina - Marybel Pina was nominated by Coach Morris. She is a member of the Saginaw Gymnastics team. Marybel Pina finished her sophomore year ranked 14th on Vault, 26th on Beam, 13th on Floor and 25th in the All-Around in the entire state of Texas! She also posted a season high on compulsory beam with a 9.65 and optional floor with a 9.55.
Madison Johnson - Madison Johnson was nominated by Coach Fulkerson. She is a member of the Saginaw Softball team. Madison went 4 for 7 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBI's, a walk, 2 sacrifice bunts,and a double.
Madison Ortiz - Madison Ortiz was nominated by Coach Fulkerson. She is a Pitcher for the Saginaw Softball team. Pitched all 3 games, won 2 games and lost 1 in the series. She pitched 20 innings, struck out 20, and had 1 shutout.
Jade Staudt - Jade Staudt was nominated by Coach Henson. She is a member of the Saginaw Golf team. Jade competed in the 5A Region 1 Golf Tournament in Lubbock April 24-25, 2017. She finished in 5th place out of 96 competitors shooting 80, 77 for a two-day total of 157. She finished as the first medalist from Region I to advance to the State Golf Championship.
Joseph Bryant - Freshman, Joseph Bryant was nominated by Coach Briley. He is a member of the Saginaw Boy's Gymnastics team. At the 5A State Gymnastics Championships, Joseph finished 8th in Pommel Horse.
